— Using the medical images and videos from this major textbook publication I created the content architecture and user interface for this instructional DVD. TEE uses ultrasound to give detailed images and video of the valves between the upper and lower chambers of the heart. The procedure requires a doctor to insert a thin tube through the mouth down into the patient’s esophagus. TEE can give clearer pictures than standard echocardiograms.

— Based on a new medical textbook published by LWW, I was tasked with creating an instructional DVD interface using a wealth of images and technical information provided by the author. The skeuomorphic design gives the various TEE viewpoints, angles, and orientations a tactile feel in lieu of working with an actual medical device. Authentic scans were matched with 3D models and specifications to help doctors and students learn about the latest advances in TEE.
